This site offers orchestras and
other performing ensembles the unique opportunity to obtain and
reprint ready-made concert program notes relevant to their current
schedules.
The notes are the personal archive
of the leading British music-critic and author Malcolm MacDonald, who for the past 30 years
has been writing notes for such world-class orchestras as the
Cleveland, the London Symphony and the BBC Symphony under the
nom-de-plume of 'Calum MacDonald'. They cover a very wide range
of repertoire and are of high professional standard in style and

For a reasonable flat-rate fee,
performing organizations may purchase the full text of the notes
of their choice, which will be supplied by e-mail, along with
the right to reprint these notes in their program books (one use
per payment).
Malcolm MacDonald is one of the leading writers on music in the
UK - and one of the most versatile. His knowledge and enthusiasms
range from the Renaissance to the current work of contemporary
composers. Under the journalistic nom-de-plume of Calum MacDonald
